Tone of Voice
Mozilla has long championed an internet that is open, accessible, and for the people who use it—not just the corporations that profit from it. Heading into a new chapter, the organization sought an identity that could articulate its mission, unify its global community of activists, builders, and innovators, and signal a renewed commitment to its core principle: Reclaim the Internet. The challenge was to create a brand system that could operate at scale across programs, campaigns, and geographies while staying instantly recognizable and distinctly Mozilla.
We approached the identity with clarity, flexibility, and attention to detail, designing a system that is bold, expressive, and fun, yet balanced and adaptable across all applications. Accessibility was carefully considered across type, color, and visual assets to ensure legibility and ease of use for all audiences. At the heart of the identity, the logo is layered and thoughtfully constructed—a symbol that reflects Mozilla’s mission to reclaim the internet, while nodding to its heritage and character, capturing the spirit of the organization in a single mark.
